Kashus Culpepper: Rising Star in the Music Scene
Kashus Culpepper has quickly made a name for himself in the music industry. He began his musical journey by self-teaching guitar during the COVID-19 pandemic while serving in the Navy in Spain, where he entertained fellow sailors with cover songs. After leaving the Navy in 2022, he performed at bars along the Mississippi Gulf Coast and started writing original music by 2023, despite having a modest social media presence.
His breakthrough came when his manager submitted his music to Big Loud Records, leading to a signing in June 2024. Culpepper describes this experience as surreal. He is set to perform two shows at The Argyros in Ketchum, followed by appearances at a festival in Key West and various cities including New York City and Philadelphia, before heading to Australasia for a series of shows.
His debut album, titled "Act I," is scheduled for release in January and reflects his diverse musical influences. Audiences can expect a blend of soul, Southern rock, country, and blues during his performances, which will feature both covers and original songs. The opening acts for his Ketchum shows include Tylor & The Train Robbers and Aaron Golay & The Original Sin.
